This project was done with a team at Stanford University as a part of a biomedical device design engineering course.
When radial artery pulsations are difficult to palpate, arterial lines are often inserted incorrectly resulting in inaccurate catheter placement. Therefore, my team designed a needle prototype that gives visual blood-return feedback to the physician indicating his location inside of the radial artery to enhance accuracy.
